  • Travel

Flight recommendations will depend on your tour! For tours beginning and ending in Corfu, you can fly into and out of Corfu International Airport also known as Ioannis Kapodistrias airport, located approx 3 kilometers south of Corfu Town. For tour dates that begin in Athens and end in Corfu, or vice versa you can research a multiple destination flight flying into or out of Corfu and out or into Athens.

    Local Travel

Port of embarkation and disembarkation on the Island of Corfu is the Marina Gouvia, located 7 km north of the city of Corfu. To make your journey as relaxed as possible, we recommend that you book the transfers between Corfu airport / hotels in Corfu City and Marina Gouvia. See pricing. The transfer will bring you to the Restaurant Olympia from where the last meters must be traveled on foot as the Jetty P is a wooden jetty and taxis are not permitted.
Of course, you are also able to take a taxi yourself or take the bus from Corfu city. If you use a standard taxi, please insist that the driver turns on the taximeter to avoid unpleasant surprises regarding the fare.
Bus No. 7 from Corfu City to Dassia/Ypsos/Pyrgi runs every half hour on Saturdays with several stops in Gouvia. The closest stop to the marina entrance is NOSOKOMEIO (Hospital), or alternatively KONTOKALI (Taverna Pipilas) or SPITI PRIFTI.
If your tour begins in Athens, the boat will most likely moor in the Marina Zeas in Athens. We advise taking advantage of the collective group transfers offered.

    Climate

The Ionian Islands, located in the western part of Greece, have a Mediterranean climate. High summer can be quite warm which is why this tour does not have departures in July and most of August. Rainfall is sparse during the summer months is scheduled. Please check local conditions prior to departure. A good website to use to research average high/low temperatures, average rainfall, and other weather-related facts is weatherbase.com.

    Remarks

Please be aware that you will be part of an international group of people. Soft luggage is recommended. Helmet use is mandatory. Though there are limited number of helmets available on board for borrowing, it is STRONGLY recommended to bring your personal, well fitted helmet.

    Documents

Before you travel, please check your country's passport and visa requirements and the passport and visa requirements of the country/countries you plan to visit. For US citizens, the US Department of State website is a good source of information. The Country Information tab in the International Travel section provides details about passport validity, blank passport pages required, etc. For our other international clients, please be sure that you research your own country's travel requirements. It is each traveler's responsibility to ensure proper documentation.

*Important note: Beginning July 1, 2021, additional documentation from the European Travel Information and Authorization System (ETIAS) will be required to visit any of the 26 Schengen-member countries for tourism, business, medical, or transit. This is an additional check on security rather than a visa.

Day 2: Corfu Island - Sivota - Parga - Lefkas Island, 18 mi. (28 km)
In the morning, onboard, you will crossover to Sivota. The cycle tour to Parga begins here which is the only center of tourism on the western coast of the Greek mainland. Parga is a pretty town with the medieval fort which towers over the old town. The boat will be waiting to go to Nidri on Lefkas Island. On the way, you will pass the original swing-bridge which connects Lefkas with the Greek mainland.

Day 3: Island of Lefkas, 21 mi. (35 km)
After breakfast, begin a short tour to a waterfall nearby Nidri. With a bit of luck, there will be enough water to have a refreshing swim. Afterward, continue on quiet roads over the hills via Siyros to the picturesque harbor town of Sivota. Here you board the boat and cruise to Fiskardo on the Island of Kedalonia. Situated on the northern tip of the island, the harbor town enchants with its colorful houses and many cafes and bars along the lively waterfront promenade.

Day 4: Cephalonia Island, 25 mi. (39 km)
Leave Fiskardo by bike and climb an impressive mountain road on the west coast of Kefalonia, where you are met by awe-inspiring views over the Assos peninsula and the famous Myrtos beach. After the climb, turn inland and cross the island. Shortly before the end of the bike tour, visit the Melissani stalactite cave on board a small rowboat and marvel at the incredible blue tones created by the unique cave formations, sun, and water. In Sami, the boat welcomes you where you'll set off for Vathy on Ithaka.

    Day 5: Islands of Ithaca and Meganisi, 13 + 8 mi. (21 + 13 km)
Ithaca, the homeland of the mythical king Odysseus, is a hilly island with a beautiful landscape. On today’s cycle route, you will enjoy the typical character of the Ionian Islands away from the beaten tourist track. On this island, full of gnarled olive trees, crystal clear water, and friendly islanders, time appears to stand still. From Frikes, the Panagiota sails to the small island of Meganisi. On the way, you will pass the private island of the influential ship-owner Aristoteles Onassis. Meganisi is a tiny island with lots of charm, which can be explored in the afternoon in no time by bicycle.

Day 6: Island of Meganisi - Mytikas - Lefkas - Paxos, 30 mi. (49 km)
In the morning, there is a crossover to Mytikas on the Greek mainland. From Mytikas, you will cycle along the Greek coast and further on along panoramic roads, passing some mountain villages until arriving at Lefkas town. The unspoiled and truly exquisite Greek Island of Lefkas is brimming with traditional charm and appeal. Huge white rocks form an intense landscape which is softened by an array of lush green valleys, clear blue waters, and stunning, long sandy beaches. The low-lying east coast of Lefkas is home to an abundance of leisure facilities and picturesque views while the west - rugged and open - promises blue seas and fabulous stretches of sand which are a magnet for the more adventurous traveler. In the afternoon, the ship will sail to Paxos Island, whose unique natural harbor in Gaios creates a special island atmosphere. You can pass the evening hours in a cozy tavern in Gaios.

Day 7: Islands of Paxos and Corfu, 14 mi. (23 km)
Paxos, the smallest of the seven Ionian Islands is a grove of olive trees, which gives the island its wonderful silver-green color. On today’s cycle tour you will circle the island and have the opportunity to swim in the Mediterranean and relax on one of the many beaches. After lunch, the boat brings you back to Corfu town and following dinner on board, you end your tour leisurely with an evening in the romantic, historical town center.

Day 8: Departure from Corfu town
